Tuscany

We have recently returned from a 10 day workshop in Val d'Orcia, Tuscany. Could have done with better light and as a result not a lot of images to process.

Typical that we should get the best light on our last morning. Taken at 5.45 am just as we were about to board the bus to take us to the airport

Tangled Trees

In Tuscany we found this glade of quite spindly trees covered in yellow lichens.  It was a challenge to find a good composition.

Tuscany Part 2

Because of the lack of good light more time than expected was spent in the hilltop villages pointing the lens at sculptures and even inside a very dark chapel which gave me the chance to use HDR (always trying to avoid the picture looking too grungy of course!).

Tuscany Part 1

Our final trip of the year was to the Val D'Orcia region of Italy and I have just started to process the images.  There were no mists to speak of, apart from a little on the very first morning, and we weren't blessed with wonderful light but I did my best.  We were with a great group of people and the food and wine were excellent so despite the disappointing light we had a good time.
