The trees have been painted blue to increase awareness and encourage discussion about global warming. In the same area the homeless gathered. Along the waterfront we found more sculptures.

Two Days in Seattle - part 2
After the market we took a look at the Seattle Library before making our way, via the monorail, to the Seattle Centre to see the Experience Music Project and Space Needle. The orange structure is a metal sculpture called the Iliad.

Birds of Prey Workshop
I have started to process my images taken on the birds of prey workshop last week. Most of the day was wet but we were dressed for it. I like the way the kestrel has fluffed himself up.

Flowers under Water
When we were away last week in the Eden Valley we took a look at the
International Garden Photographer of the Year exhibition which was on in
Reghed. There were some interesting pictures of flowers which had been
put under water and left to degrade so today I plunged this tulip under
water. It will be interesting to see how it looks in a few weeks'
time.

Scarborough Rocks
Last week we enjoyed a day in Scarborough on a fossil hunt with the NH Group of the U3A. As usual, when on a beach, I was more interested in photographing the lovely sandstone rocks than looking for fossils. I did manage to find a couple though!
The two rocks below do have fossils in them, probably gingko leaves.
There may also be a few fossils in these two pictures on the left!
We left Stokesley in the rain but the sun had come out just a little by the time we got to the beach. However once we had finished lunch it was raining very, very hard. There were still plenty of people walking on the beach in the rain. When we returned home we discovered that it had been raining all day.
