Edinburgh and The Fringe

We had a day out in Edinburgh on Monday, leaving home at 6.15 am to catch the train and not getting back until after 10 pm.  Did a lot of walking from the Royal Mile up to Great King Street to see the Edinburgh PS Annual Exhibition.  Worth the effort but my legs are now aching!

We found the usual characters from the Fringe in the Royal Mile.  Walked from one end to the other finishing at the Scottish Parliament building.

Playing with Textures

Just recently I have been playing around and putting textures onto images.  It could become addictive!

Gunnerside Barns

Another trip with our visitors was into Swaledale where the obligatory stop was made to photograph the barns.

Over the Moors to Saltburn

We had visitors staying recently and they had hoped to see the heather on the North York Moors in full bloom.  Unfortunately it was only out on the south facing slopes.  Another visit later in the month might prove more fruitful.  I concentrated on close ups rather than the wide vistas.  When we arrived in Saltburn the tide was still quite high and the hoped-for sunset didn't develop.  It was good to see that the secret knitters had returned and put their Olympic competitors back onto the pier railings.  There was also a good stenciled graffiti on the wall behind the pier.

365 Project

Should any visitors have been following my 365 project pages, listed on the right, I have to admit defeat.  I just found it to much pressure to take a picture every day, especially on those (frequent) days when I didn't go anwhere!
